First Contest Of The Year Is On !!
Santana Crew gets a session with Rob Machado
The Drifter shows up at first peak to share some barrels with everyone! The Martinez bros, Melquin and others let him see their portfolio by throwing buckets of water, the deepest pits and enough air time to make the FAA's head spin. To top it off Machado was also ridiculously killing it on a chunk of foam, resembling a 7-11 foam cooler top…. Definitely a sweet session.
New Sticks for this years contest winners are delivered.... Check it out

Baldo's New Stick
Baldo received his new magic ride! Javier Baldovinos is "El Presidente" of the Nicaragua National Surf Circuit and a large reason the Nica surfers are able to showcase their talents and raise awareness of Nica's growing surf population. Baldo put's in a humongous amount of hours and dedication to ensure the team is able to compete and represent their country throughout Central America. Continuously growing fan support and sponsorship, this year’s circuit has developed to become the "Sobe Adrenale Rush 2009" series.
The plan was in motion, with the help of team coach and coordinator Tony Longabucco. All of the staff, team and area supporters came together to get Baldo's new stick as a way show their thanks for his time and effort. Everyone did a tremendous job of keeping this a secret in order to hook Baldo up during Nica's last contest of the year which was held at Playa Santana. Heck, even Playa Santana chipped in to provide the entire contest with some of the best waves seen during this venue. The surf was 5-7 foot faces and so many barrels, no one got sunburned.
Personally, I'm stoked that Tony reached out and gave us the opportunity to shape Baldo's board. COS surf factory handled the glassing. Props to Baldo and everyone involved!
